Fuller Road runs east from Eliot Street, at the corner where Beech Street turns north, across Cottage Street to Columbia Road in the Nutting Lake section. For most of its history the western part, from Eliot Street to Cottage Street, was Lenox Street. It first appears on "Nuttings Lake Park Extension, Plan E," drawn in May 1915 by C. A. Thayer, engineer, of Providence, Rhode Island, and recorded April 14, 1916 (Plan Book 33, Plan 46), where Lenox Street runs from Cottage Street west to the corner of Eliot Street and Beach Street, and Plan G of December 1916 shows it again. The directory of 1931 describes Lenox Street as running "from Cottage to Eliot." No record explains the name.

At the annual meeting of February 9, 1946 the town voted to accept "Lenox Street from Elliot Street to Cottage Street 300 feet," and on October 28, 1946 a special town meeting accepted its laying out with the other Nutting Lake streets and voted money for water mains on it; the town's list of accepted streets gives "Lenox St. -- From Eliot St. to Cottage St. 2-9-46 -- 10-28-46." In 1952 the Department of Public Works reported Lenox Street with "Gravel penetration seal applied and one catch basin installed," its first surface treatment on record.

Another Lenox Street existed elsewhere in town, and the Nutting Lake street became Fuller Road, probably in the selectmen's renaming program of 1988 to 1991; the change is not among those printed for 1988, and the name Fuller Road is in use by 1994. The record gives no reason for the new name, which is not to be confused with Governor Fuller Road in another part of town. The short eastern part, from Cottage Street to Columbia Road, was accepted as a public way by the annual town meeting in May 2002 as "Fuller Rd Cottage St to Columbia Rd," 250 feet, and the whole street was repaved in fiscal 2003. Fuller Road is not one of the roads of the 1831 map accepted in 2016.
